A
Note from the Faithful Navigator of Admiral Benson Assembly...
Welcome
to the Admiral William S. Benson Assembly website! Our Assembly is located in historic Anne Arundel County,
the site of the State capital of Maryland, Annapolis, and the U.S.
Naval Academy. Our
namesake, Admiral William S. Benson, was the First Chief of Naval
Operations for the United States Navy. We are proud of this fine Catholic Naval officer and
gentleman and his role in U.S. Naval history.
This
year the Assembly will be focusing its efforts on: (1) recruiting
new members, as well as (2) attempting to recruit members for our
color corps from within the current membership. If you are not a 4th degree member of the Knights of
Columbus, please consider joining this wonderful order of Patriotic
men. If you are
already a member of Admiral Benson Assembly, I humbly request that
you consider joining our color corps. Considering our strategic
location near historic Annapolis, we should have one of the best
color corps teams in Maryland! The more Sir Knights that join, the less work for those
brothers currently participating in this activity. If you are now participating in the Benson Assembly Color
Corps, I thank you
for all your efforts and earnestly hope you will continue on.
We
are always in need of workers for our Bingo nights in Annapolis. This is the
sole fundraiser for our Assembly.
Again, we are hoping to see fresh faces who will help us to
carry the load. Currently, we run Bingo at Annapolis Council every
fifth Friday, and a several times during the council's carnival season.
Please check the schedule below for upcoming dates. Thanks for your consideration!
If you can assist, please call or email Color Corps Commander Rich Walz
at 410-987-7047 or
rwkc@starpower.net.
As
members of the 4th degree, we will always attempt to let fellow
citizens know that the Catholic Church, and the order of the
Knights of Columbus always play a key role in attempting to
further both the spiritual life, and the moral ideals of American
society. And, by representing both our Nation, and our Faith proudly, we will
discourage those heathens who wish to keep us hidden away and
silent, and to encourage others to join us in fighting the Culture
of Death.
Thanks
and May God Bless You!
Charles R. Fink, Faithful Navigator, PGK [8251]
